PHAC Committees

All Morgan State University School of Community Health and Policy/Public Health Program alumni are welcome to participate in alumni affairs by joining a committee, however, only Alumni Board Members are able to Chair committees.

ALUMNI OUTREACH COMMITTEE - Dr. Johnny Rice ('11)

The Public Health Alumni Outreach Committee is dedicated to developing strategies to strengthen the connection between alumni and the School of Community Health and Policy. This committee works to locate alumni, create affinity and regional groups and develop networking opportunities to engage alumni. Committee members are encouraged to host activities or organize events to increase interaction between alumni locally, nationally and globally.

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE - Dr. Lorece Edwards ('04)

The Development Committee is dedicated to strategizing fundraising-related programs and appeals, and for identifying new resources and sponsorship consistent with the goals and mission of the School of Community Health and Policy. Membership is limited to Board members only.

NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE - Tanya Grandison ('02)

The Nominating Committee is dedicated to recruiting and recommending a slate of candidates for election to the Board, and for identifying a diverse representation of various disciplines among the alumni body. Membership is limited to Board members only.

PUBLIC HEALTH LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE - Dr. Myrtle Evans- Holland ('10)

The Public Health Leadership Committee is dedicated to create leadership through advocacy in Public Health Policy, by encouraging participation of alumni and students, in legislative activities which affect Public Health Policy and Legislative efforts in the local community and the nation. This Committee is also committed to serve as an advocate on MSU Committees at large,  connect to  entities such as the White House Initiative on HBCU's, the Consortium of African American Public Health Programs and other national public health organizations.

SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE - Dr. Lakaisha Yarber ('10)

The Special Events Committee is dedicated to facilitating alumni participation in Public Health Alumni events, and for assisting in the planning and hosting of various Public Health Alumni activities, including the annual Public Health Alumni Summit and reunions.

STUDENT & ALUMNI RELATIONS COMMITTEE - Dr. Mackessa Holt  ('11)

The Student and Alumni Relations Committee is dedicated to developing strategies to strengthen the bond between Public Health Alumni and students, helping to enhance the student experience at the School of Community Health and Policy in the following departments: Public Health Analysis; Behavioral Health Sciences; Health Policy Management. This committee works to provide professional development guidance as well as identify internship and job opportunities.
