Test Taking Strategies
Test-taking skills are components not connected to the knowledge of the subject matter, but include the individual's attitude and approach towards taking a test. The acquisition of new knowledge often requires test taking. There are two main factors that contribute to successful test scores these are preparation and test-taking strategies.

Read the questions carefully, However, do not read too much into the question.
Consider your first answer as a probability of being the correct choice.
Manage anxiety. Practice relaxation techniques.
Before answering the questions
Read the directions.
Scan the entire exam and familiarize yourself with the types of questions that are being asked.
Look for weights assigned to particular sections and develop quick plans.
During the test (when answering objective/essay questions)
Do not labor over a question. If a question is taking undue time and thought, mark it, leave it, and return to it later (if applicable).
Read all multiple of the choice answers before choosing your answer.
Strategies for answering essay questions
Carefully read the directions.
Select those questions for which you are best prepared and begin with the most simple.
Process the amount of time needed to answer each question.
