Welcome to our New Faculty

The School of Architecture and Planning would like to welcome the following new faculty to the Morgan State Family:
- Adam Bridge, Lecturer, is coming on as a full-time faculty member after 3 years as an adjunct instructor for the History of the Built Environment and Studio courses. Mr. Bridge, has practiced architecture for over 10 years locally and internationally.
- Stanford Britt, Lecturer, has been practicing architecture for over 30 years. Mr. Britt has been recognized as Fellow of American Institute of Architects and Council for National Organization of Minority Architects. He is the President and Treasurer for Sulton Campbell Britt and Associates. He will be teaching courses in the undergraduate program in Architecture and Environmental Design.
- Brian Grieb, Lecturer, joins the faculty full-time after teaching several undergraduate courses on a part-time basis, including studio and building materials. As a practicing architect, he was also recognized for his work for the Morgan State University's Richardson Library. His teaching interests include Sustainable Building and Materials, Integrated Design, Urban Design, and French History and Architecture.
- Kuo Pao Lian, Lecturer, will be teaching in the Graduate program in Architecture. His research interests include Architectonic Studies and Studio Culture, Child Centered Urban Development, and Exploratory Investigations in Spatial Narratives. Mr. Lian is a Owner of PI.KL, local design firm.
- Dr. Tonya Sanders, Assistant Professor in City and Regional Planning, recently earned her doctorate degree in Urban Planning and Policy from University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research interests include Affordable Housing, Faith-based Community Development, Built Environment and Health, and Community Organizing. This fall, Dr. Sanders will be teacing Principles and Practices of City and Regional Planning and Housing and Land Development.
- Fred Scharmen, Lecturer, has been teaching in both undergraduate and graduate programs in Architecture for over three years. Mr. Scharmen, active in the Baltimore design and art community, has worked at local design firms, Alexander Studio and Ziger Snead. In addition to practicing architecture, Mr. Scharmen has also taught at MICA and University of Maryland, College Park.
