Assistant or Associate Professor in Graduate Architecture [PDF]
The School of Architecture & Planning (SA+P) is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, for the Department of Architecture.
A qualified person is needed to give architectural instruction in the graduate design studio sequence; and in a specialized area reflecting the candidate’s research. Examples include, but are not limited to, these subject areas: sustainability; environmental controls; digital representation and fabrication; structural systems; building materials and methods of construction, urban design theory and practice; evidence-based design; design for health care; integrated project delivery.
The Department of Architecture offers the Master of Architecture degree, and enjoys a collaborative relationship with Landscape Architecture and City & Regional Planning, and with a pre-professional undergraduate program. The SA+P is in a brand new sustainable interdisciplinary building, The Center for the Built Environment and Infrastructure Studies (CBEIS). New programs include Construction Management and Historic Preservation.
Position Requirements:
Required qualifications are a professional Master’s degree in architecture and five years of professional experience. Preference is for registration as a licensed architect, however individuals actively pursuing registration will be considered. An earned Ph.D. in a related subject area is an acceptable substitute for registration as an architect.
Compensation and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
