Applications Available for 2013 Summer Transportation Institute
The National Transportation Center at Morgan State University is now accepting applications for its 17th annual Summer Transportation Institute (STI). The free program is open to students who will enter the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in September 2013. STI is a nonresidential program, and it will be held on Morgan’s campus from July 8-August 2, 2013.
STI introduces teens to the many career opportunities available in the transportation industry. The program features four weeks of field trips, hands-on projects, and networking opportunities with industry professionals. The curriculum also features SAT prep and activities that promote self-awareness.
Students receive a full scholarship that covers the entire cost of attending the program, including all lab fees and field trips. Lunch and bus passes are also provided daily. In addition, each participant receives a $250 stipend upon completion of the program.
