George Anyumba holds Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) and Masters of Public Health (MPH) degrees from Morgan State University, with special interest in biostatistics and epidemiology.

George Anyumba holds Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) and Masters of Public Health (MPH) degrees from Morgan State University, with special interest in biostatistics and epidemiology.

Before joining ASCEND, he worked as Health and Policy Analyst (State of Maryland), Senior Research Analyst (Baltimore City Health Department), Adjunct Professor of Math (Carroll Community College, Westminster, MD), and an Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology (School of Community Health and Policy, Nursing Program, MSU).

Trained as a math and chemistry teacher in his native country, Kenya, Dr. Anyumba has several years of teaching and school administrative experience there. He was one of the chief examiners of chemistry, and also served as head of the science department and as a high school principal before relocating to the USA where his first job was teaching math and chemistry in the Baltimore City Public Schools.
