Department:      Advanced Studies, Leadership & Policy

 

Duties:  Provide administrative and clerical support in the department for Advanced Studies, Leadership, and Policy; assist the program director, faculty, staff, and students;  support the program director with yearly request; oversee the grant budget; coordinate on-campus meetings and appointments for the program director; schedule travel arrangements; store files and other important documents; order supplies, books and equipment; prepare monthly Title III reports; plan quarterly faculty and staff meetings as well as yearly orientations for faculty and new students; perform other duties, as required  

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED. Two (2) years of experience providing secretarial/administrative support, which includes the production of documents using automated equipment and software; demonstrated ability to type at least 45 wpm.

Notes: Applicants must complete the University’s skills assessment test to be considered.  Some positions require specific skills such as word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, email, calendaring software, and internet proficiency.

Requirements:     Knowledge of practical application of office practices, procedures, and equipment; knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, grammar and arithmetic; skill in operating manual and automated office equipment; skill in performing arithmetic calculations; skills in keeping clerical records; skill in preparing reports; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple assignments with only general instructions; ability to compose general correspondence; ability to communicate effectively; ability to interact with public, employees, and students in a courteous manner.
