Department:    Murphy Fine Arts Center


Duties:   Provides support to the administrative staff by monitoring and reconciling unit expenses against the budget; reviews and reconciles monthly expense statements; monitors monthly expenditures and gathers supporting documentation for review and approval; verifies shipments and resolves purchasing related issues; maintains records through filing, retrieval, retention, and storage; compiles, codes, updates, and purges data; utilizes the BANNER system; works with the Division of Finance and Management to ensure that the Murphy Fine Arts Center is in compliance with all University and State regulations as they pertain to purchasing and procurement; works with audience Services Manager and outside promoters to conduct concerts and performance settlements; places orders, expedites and follows up on the status of deliveries with various vendors; verifies shipments and follows up on the status of orders and deliveries; manages the departmental procurement card; processes invoices, purchase requests, and payroll forms; completes forms and follows established processing procedures; contracts and schedules event staff; conducts box office reconciliations with the Marketing Director; settles issues at the end of performances in the Gilliam Concert Hall; and performs other duties, as required.


Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Accounting or other relevant field; One (1) year of experience engaged in work related to accounting, budget, grant monitoring, budget management,   compliance reviews, or similar areas of work.


Preferred:  Three (3) years of experience in work related to accounting or budget.


Requirements:  Knowledge and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);  ability to apply basic analytical skills; ability to apply budgetary  policies and practices;  ability to use calculators; ability to communicate effectively; ability to perform basic mathematical computations; ability to operate personal computers and related software.
