Department:    University Bookstore



Duties: Provides accurate cash register operations and accurate recording of all sales transactions; secures cash register funds; provides good customer service and assists in store merchandising; sets up and operates cash register; makes change and receives monies from customers; endorses checks, receives credit card authorizations; completes Bear Necessity Card transactions; closes register, count monies, and prepares daily cash reconciliation; restocks merchandise on the sales floor; adheres to the policies and procedures of the University Store in all transactions; may be required to work Special Events outside of regular work schedule; e.g., Home Football and Basketball games; performs other duties, as required.


Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED.  One (1)) year of accounting clerical experience.

Requirements: Knowledge of cashiering functions; skill in making accurate monetary transactions; skill in performing mathematical computations; ability to prepare written records and reports; ability to operate keyboards and calculations; ability to exhibit customer service skills; ability to communicate effectively; ability to operate manual and automated office equipment.
