Department:    Procurement and Property Control

 

Duties:   Serves in a Team Leader capacity over Movers assigned to the Property Control Department; assists in coordinating moves for special University events; packs, unpacks, delivers and relocates furniture, equipment, and supplies; sets up University property and equipment for registration, commencement, homecoming and other special events; transports gifts and donations given to the University; identifies and documents surplus property; maintains the cleanliness, order, and general appearance of the storage area of the Washington Service center; determines the equipment, personnel, and time needed to complete tasks; ensures the safety of assigned personnel and monitors the activity of personnel to ensure University policies, procedures, and guidelines are followed; ensures that personnel are properly trained in the use, care and maintenance of equipment; reports issues and concerns to the immediate supervisor; and performs other duties, as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:    High School Diploma or GED; Two (2) years related work experience.

 

Preferred:   Valid driver’s license.

Requirements:    Skill in operating warehouse material handling equipment; skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; ability to lead and train others in packing and moving furnishings, materials, and equipment; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; ability to communicate effectively; ability to follow directions; ability to read, comprehend and apply OSHA/MOSHA requirements; ability to perform extensive standing, walking, climbing and frequent heavy lifting; ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment.
