Department:               School of Social Work

Duties:    Provides administrative and clerical support to the Field Program  of the School of Social Work;  coordinates activities of the office and organization;  responds to student issues related to policy and  procedures; exercises independent judgment; coordinates and implement office operating procedures; prepares correspondence, charts, forms, and other materials from copy using automated office equipment; proofreads materials; uses software applications to create spreadsheets, databases, statistical programs and graphic editing; reviews and edits correspondence; establishes and revises files; enters, updates and retrieves information; monitors and updates time, leave, inventory, orders supplies, equipment and other services; screens mail, telephone calls, and visitors; schedules meetings and appointments; makes travel arrangements and prepares travel vouchers and expense reports; gathers data for reports; ensures confidentially of information, and performs other duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED.  Two (2) years of office experience providing administrative support, including the production of documents using automated equipment and software applications.  Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 wpm.

Requirements:     Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of business English; excellent communication and customer service skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; skill in operating manual and automated office equipment; skill in maintaining clerical records; ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times; ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to interact with the public, employees, and students in a courteous and efficient manner; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with only general instructions.
