Department:              School of Business and Management

                               

Duties:   Provides moderately complex administrative, secretarial and clerical support to the department; proofreads materials; prepares and reviews manuscripts, correspondence, charts, forms and other materials; composes responses to routine inquiries; exercises initiative in establishing and revising files; enters, updates and retrieves information stored in files and databases; monitors and updates time, leave, and inventory; orders supplies, equipment, repairs and services; screens telephone calls and visitors; takes care of routine matters; schedules and coordinates meetings; makes travel arrangement; ensures confidentiality of information; supports office using automated equipment, such as, facsimile machines, personal and networked computers, printers, copy equipment, voice messaging, electronic mail systems, and telephone equipment; and performs other duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED.  Two (2) years of office experience providing administrative support, including the production of documents using automated equipment and software applications.  Demonstrated ability to type at  least 45 wpm.  Must complete the university’s clerical skills test.   

Preference:     Knowledge of and skill in Banner applications.

Requirements:     Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of business English;; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; skill in operating manual and automated office equipment; skill in maintaining clerical records; ability to provide excellent customer service; ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times; ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to interact with the public, employees, and students in a courteous and efficient manner; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with only general instructions; and ability to communicate effectively.
