Department: School of Business Administration
Duties: Provides administrative and clerical support to the Chairperson, Dean, Associate Dean, faculty and staff of the School of Business Administration; prepares correspondence, charts, forms and other materials; composes and sends routine correspondence; sets up and maintains files; assists in preparing and administering office accounts and records; enters, updates and retrieves information stored in files and databases; opens, sorts and routes mail; receives telephone calls and visitors; answers routine inquires and takes messages; orders supplies, gathers material, obtains documents and background information for reports and other purposes; uses automated equipment such as facsimile machines, personal and network computers and printers, copy equipment, voice messaging and electronic mail and telephone systems.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. One year of office experience, providing administrative and clerical support, e.g., involving the production of documents using automated equipment and software. Demonstrated ability to type at least 40 correct wpm and successful completion of the University's clerical skills test.
Requirements: Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of business English and grammar; skill in the Microsoft Office Suite; skill in the use of automated office equipment; skill in word processing; ability to produce documents using automated equipment and office equipment; ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to interact with the public, employees, and students in an efficient manner; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments, with only general instructions; ability to communicate effectively.
