Department:      Procurement and Property Control


Duties: Supervises procurement operations and functions of a State institution; manages office personnel directly related to the  purchasing of commodities section; serves as the manager involving the procurement, receipt, storage, distribution and disposition of supplies, materials and equipment; maintains regular contact with vendors and University personnel; prepares or reviews all final requisitions for supplies, materials, equipment, and service contracts; secures bids and contracts on specific lines of merchandise; prepares specifications and standards of supplies; studies market conditions and the quality and price of goods; approves all purchase orders and requisition forms; keeps records of prices and sources of supplies; serves as the unit expert on University Technology System Banner; performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, or related field. Masters’ Degree preferred. Five (5) years of experience in contract management or procurement. Two (2) years of this experience must involve supervision of other employees.    

Requirements:  Knowledge of procurement processes and policies; ability to demonstrate management skills; knowledge of an operating system that processes the financial module associated with budgets, requisitions, and purchase orders; ability to plan, organize, direct the work of others; exercise initiative and sound decisions; ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other employees; ability to communicate effectively.
