Department:     Procurement and Property Control

 

Duties:   Provides administrative and clerical support to the Director and staff of the department; serves as the primary support person to the Director of Procurement and Property Control; manages office activities; composes, proofreads, and edits correspondence; prepares reports, charts, and graphs; screens and distributes incoming mail; composes responses to routine inquires; maintains the Director’s schedule; screens and directs telephone calls and visitors;  schedules meetings and appointments; orders supplies; arranges maintenance services;  makes travel arrangements and keeps records of travel  itinerary; prepares and maintains forms and inventory; processes incoming bids; interacts with University personnel, suppliers, vendors, and other State and Federal agencies; performs other duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED.  Two (2) years of office experience providing secretarial/administrative support, which included the production of documents using automated equipment and software.  Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 wpm.

Requirements:  Knowledge of practical application of office practices, procedures, and equipment; knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, grammar and arithmetic; skill in operating manual and automated office equipment; skill in performing arithmetic calculations; skills in keeping clerical records; skill in preparing reports; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple assignments with only general instructions; ability to compose general correspondence; ability to communicate effectively; ability to interact with public, employees, and students in a courteous manner.
