Department:  Office of Internal Audit and Management Review


Provides administrative secretarial and clerical support to Directors and associated administrators  in the Office of Internal Audit and Management Review, applying a comprehensive knowledge  of the office’s mission; exercises discretion and independent  judgment,  frequently; handles  highly confidential information and materials;  prepares, proofreads, and revises correspondence, memorandums, forms,  reports, and other materials using Microsoft Office suite  applications and other office programs and equipment; utilizes office management  knowledge and skills to assist the Auditors in achieving  goals related to expanded University coverage and accomplishment of the three-year audit plan; provides  secretarial services to support the Audit and Institutional Assessment Committee of the Board of Regents, as needed; receives and reads incoming correspondence and information, in order to summarize, prioritize, and provide to auditors/staff for review; determines appropriate background materials and documents to be attached with submissions to staff;  screens out items to be handled,  directly;  accompanies staff to take meeting minutes; transcribes dictations and taped discussions;  writes and signs routine correspondence and drafts replies to general inquiries on behalf of staff; reads and edits outgoing correspondence for procedural, typographical and grammatical accuracy, conformance with general policy and factual correctness;  calls deviations or inadequacies to the writer's attention; enters, updates, retrieves and maintains information stored in files and databases; researches, analyzes, and summarizes information and source materials for reports, independently, and communicates findings; and performs other duties, as required.

Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.  Three (3) years of office experience providing administrative support, including the production of documents using automated equipment and software applications.  Demonstrated ability to type at least 50 wpm.

Requirements: Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of business English; knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite; skill in operating manual and automated office equipment; skill in maintaining clerical records; ability to work and think clearly under pressure; ability to maintain a professional demeanor; ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to interact with the public, employees, students  in a courteous and efficient manner; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with only general instructions; ability to communicate effectively.
