Department: School of Global Journalism and Communication
Duties: Executes the planning, implementation, and coordination of operational functions that directly support annual giving and indirectly strengthen major giving e.g., on-air fundraising events, direct mail campaigns, tracking gift income, newsletter development, grant writing, member activity, underwriting sales and performs other support duties for the Development Department; executes and plans on-air Spring membership; works with co-pitchers for air personalities; maintains databases; creates promos for on-air membership solicitations; provides phone bank set-up, creates cues and intros for show hosts and co-pitchers; provides profiles and timing of mail campaigns; and performs other duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors' Degree in mass communications or related field; Two (2) years of experience in non-profit development, including direct mail campaigns and on-air fundraising work.
Preference: Experience in Raiser's Edge.
Requirements: Knowledge of membership management systems, knowledge of public radio; ability to coordinate fundraising events; skill in spreadsheet and Microsoft Office Suite and Excel; ability to update and monitor database programs; ability to provide guidance and instructions to others; ability to operate computers and other standard office equipment, ability to communicate effectively
