Department: Athletics


Duties:   Responsible for assisting the head coach in overseeing the total intercollegiate football program, administratively and technically; assists in monitoring the academic progress and pursuits of student-athletes; assists in the recruitment of qualified student-athletes; assists in providing guidance and strategy to staff and student-athletes during competitions; assists in pre-season and off-season conditioning programs; develops an offensive game plan; develops a defensive game plan; communicates  the defensive scheme as viewed from the coaches area of the press box;  recommends to the head coach defensive plays for use during the game;  interprets and communicates the opponent's  offensive scheme; conducts home and away contest;  accompanies student-athletes and related personnel to away contest;  prepares the team and facility for home contests;

conducts camps and clinics; assists in organizing a high school coach's clinic; assist in the development of a football camp; performs administrative tasks; develops and maintains an Offensive and a Spring Practice playbook; developing and maintains a defensive depth chart;. Assists in dissecting and interpreting game film; adheres to department, University, MEAC, and NCAA rules and regulations; assists in the development and implementation of the Intramural/Recreation Program; and performs other duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:   Bachelor’s degree, Experience coaching on a NCAA Division I level football program.

Preferred:   Master’s Degree.

Requirements:   Knowledge of NCAA Division I football; knowledge of departmental, university, MEAC and NCAA rules and regulations; ability to work with students and possess strong interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
