Department: Office of Records and Registration
Duties: Provides administrative and clerical support to the Office of the Registrar; provides registration-related services to students, parents and employees; opens and closes the Registrar’s Office and Front Counter; greets and welcomes guests, students, parents, faculty and administrators; assists the Registrar, Associate and Assistant Registrars with special projects; develops and maintains office manuals and filing systems; researches university policy and provides written summaries of program and policy changes; ensures operation of equipment; maintains office supply inventory; maintains and records documentation of payments received for the Business Office; updates standard office forms; receives official student folders from the Admissions Office; monitors and responds to the general office email account; reads, researches, and routes correspondence; drafts letters and documents; collects and analyses information; initiates telecommunications; maintains Registrar’s appointment schedule by planning meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel; maintains confidentially; adheres to FERPA standards; maintains the Registrar’s web sites; and performs other duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Two (2) years of office experience providing administrative support, which also included the production of documents using automated equipment and software applications. Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 wpm by completing the university’s clerical skills test.
Preferred: Knowledge and expertise in Banner applications.
Requirements: Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of business English; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; skill in operating manual and automated office equipment; ability to work and think clearly under pressure; ability to maintain a professional demeanor; ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to interact with the public, employees, and students in a courteous and efficient manner; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with only general instructions; ability to communicate effectively.
