Department: Office of the President
Duties: Reports to the Office of the President, serves as manager for the University's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) programs; manages, administers, directs, and provides leadership to the University's effort to develop and enhance programs that encourage diversity and promote employee equity and equal access; develops operating procedures and guidelines; assures that the University is in compliance with federal, state and local laws related to racial discrimination, sexual harassment and disabilities that limit equal employment and educational opportunity; coordinates investigations and mediation of complaints; conducts compliance reviews of employment selection plans, recruitment packets and documents; prepares, reviews and analyzes statistical reports; develops and administers training; may serve on strategic task forces and committees; fosters cultural diversity and sensitivity within university programs, departments and divisions; serves as the University 504 and ADA Coordinator, and performs other duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Three years of experience implementing an equal opportunity program in employment or in an equal access program, ensuring adherence to fair practice standards and including negotiations.
Requirements: Knowledge of federal, state and local legislation concerning equal opportunity in employment and equal access to employment, services, programs, contracts, facilities, filing guidelines and protections; skills in documenting and preparing reports of findings; ability to manage a program; ability to impartially investigate complaints of discrimination; ability to develop and deliver formal training programs; ability to represent the University at all types of hearings; and ability to communicate effectively.
