The Department of Mathematics is seeking a Chairperson who is a research scholar with outstanding leadership skills to manage its 35 member faculty and expanding interdisciplinary research programs. Morgan State University, Maryland's Public Urban University, enrolls over 8,000 students in programs from the baccalaureate through the doctoral level. The rapidly growing Department of Mathematics, offers the Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science; Bachelor of Science in Mathematics; Ph.D. in Industrial and Computational Sciences as well as service courses for the entire University.
Minimum Qualifications: Five (5) years' experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and a PhD in the Mathematical Sciences.
Requirements: Strong research background as well as sound administrative and leadership skills/experience. Demonstrated record of extramural research support in the mathematical sciences, with experience in developing and promoting research programs.
