The President’s Second Mile Award

The President’s Second Mile Award was established to encourage and give recognition to outstanding leadership and participation in student affairs. It is intended that this award will go to that member of the graduating class who made the most outstanding contribution to the campus community during his or her undergraduate days. “Going the Second Mile,” means to do more in any given task or activity than can be reasonably expected.

Criteria to Qualify
  • Graduating senior
  • Resume or academic vita
  • Present a minimum of five (5) letters of recommendation from the following individuals:
  • University administrator
  • Faculty member
  • Advisor to a campus organization in which the nominee participated
  • Two (2) members of the senior class
  • Copies of programs, certificates, photographs, etc. as proof of participation
Deadline

Submit materials to the Office of Student Activities on or before April 11, 2008.  A screening committee within the Division of Student affairs will review the material and make a recommendation to the President of the University, who has final authority in the selection process.
