Cultural Events in Baltimore

Students in Morgan State University's English as a Second Language Program will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of cultural events on and off Morgan’s campus.  In addition to our University’s own rich tradition in theater, music, art, sports, and more, students will explore Baltimore and our region.  You might spend the morning viewing world class art at the Walters Art Museum or attend an Orioles baseball game on a Saturday afternoon.  Or you might visit the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C., or spend an evening cheering on a Morgan State University varsity athletic team.  With almost endless cultural events, art districts, sports, major neighboring cities and quaint historical towns, there is much to see and do at Morgan and beyond!

Visit our blog and our Facebook group for news and photos from recent events including day trips to Washington, D.C., an Orioles baseball game, a visit to Artscape, and more.

The iPal Program

Each ESL program participant will be matched with an "International Pal" or "iPal," a Morgan State University undergraduate student who will act as a friend and a guide for the duration of the program.  iPals will connect with their ESL student buddy at least once a week to study, engage in language practice and/or participate in cultural events.  The iPal matching program was been designed to partner international and domestic students studying at MSU for the purpose of a cultural exchange and building friendships. For more information on the program, click here.  To view a video news clip about the iPal program, click here. Applications from MSU students who are interested in being an iPal are now being accepted!
