Department: Physical Plant

Introduction: The Physical Plant Department is recruiting for an Office Clerk II. Interested candidates should have a strong desire in advancing the mission of one of the Nation's largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Duties: Assisting in coordination of clerical work for the department; processing a variety of documents; preparing worksheets and reports; identifying and resolving clerical processing issues and recommending new or revised procedures; receiving and directing telephone calls; responding to moderately complexed inquiries requiring research and implementation of departmental policies and procedures; maintaining manual and automatic record keeping and filing systems; completing monthly credit card reports and entering it in the Banner System; reviewing and verifying statistical and other reports for completeness and accuracy of computations and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with two (2) years of experience in clerical work.

Requirements: General Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment; skill in preparing reports and operating manual and automated office equipment; ability to perform mathematical computations; performing routine clerical tasks, including filing documents in alphabetical and numerical sequences; ability to plan and perform specialized clerical tasks; ability to understand and interpret departmental policies and procedures; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective work relationships; ability to operate personal computers and assigned word processing and spreadsheet software.
