Department: Procurement & Property Control

Introduction: The Procurement & Property Control Department is recruiting for a Business Diversity Assistant. Interested candidates should have a strong desire to support the mission of one of the Nation's largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Duties: Coordinating the collection and preparation of reports for the University's overall State of Maryland Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Small Business Reserve Programs (SBR) programs; creating and maintaining a combination of paper and electronic files; maintaining reportable projects using multiple databases and working with the Procurement Staff; verifying that MBE attachments have been received, scanned and entered into an Excel Database; informing the University's Business and Diversity Manager of any conflict issues; gathering and maintaining data for monthly reports from Prime Contractors, including second and third-tier MBE Subcontractors; ensuring data is collected and entered into the master spreadsheet database for review; auditing MBE and SBR Prime Subcontractor payments to verify that the Subcontractors have actually been paid as reported and according to the MBE and SBR participation plans and performing other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED with at least two (2) years of office experience providing Secretarial or Administrative support.

Requirements: Must have excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills;
ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple and continuing assignments; knowledge of Microsoft Software (Excel); ability to utilize technology for efficient processing and generation of reports and the ability to work independently under limited supervision.
