Department: Office of Student Success & Retention

Introduction: The Office of Student Success & Retention is currently recruiting for a Retention Coordinator. Interested candidates should have a strong desire to support the mission of one of the Nation's largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Duties: Coordinating, facilitating, implementing and evaluating retention activities within the School; tracking, intervening and monitoring of students by first-time and full-time cohorts; assisting the respective Dean with developing a retention model that is consistent with the strategic plan mandated by the Office of Student Success and Retention; conducting surveys to gather information from students regarding policies and student experiences; providing various student support and counseling services; coordinating, facilitating and implementing strategies, including drop list interventions, early alerts and flags, peer tutoring, Financial Aid probation & FAFSA renewal, freshman programs and performing other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from an accredited College or University with at least five (5) years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications: A Master's Degree in any discipline from an accredited College or University.

Requirements: Ability to work independently and multi-task; ability to exercise sound judgement and handle confidential information; strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent written and verbal skills.
