Duties: Supervising, training and evaluating of all assigned staff; overseeing the following tasks; removing trash from assigned areas daily; dusting, cleaning and scrubbing tile floors, halls, classrooms, offices and lecture halls; cleaning furniture, stairwells and elevators; vacuuming carpets, furniture, drapes and spot cleaning when necessary; operating buffing machines, carpet cleaning equipment, mops and other cleaning materials; cleaning, scrubbing and sanitizing restrooms; washing walls, doors and partitions, and removing graffiti; washing windows, transoms, and display case windows inside and out; assisting in the cleaning and removal of animal or bird waste from buildings; replenishing supplies in restrooms; placing furniture in normal position after rooms have been cleaned; shoveling snow, removing ice and spreading snow and ice melting compounds within designated areas; assisting MSU's recycling g efforts by collecting the items to be recycled in assigned areas; ensuring that recycled items are placed in designated areas; driving state owned vehicles , if eligible and qualified, to pick-up or deliver housekeeping equipment and supplies as directed; securing assigned areas by closing windows and locking doors and performing other related duties as directed.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate must have three (3) years of experience in housekeeping in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Requirements: General knowledge of the procedures, equipment, and supplies used in housekeeping; skilled in the use and maintenance of housekeeping tools and equipment; knowledge in the selection and application of housekeeping chemicals and supplies; ability to provide guidance and train others; ability to plan and supervise the work of housekeeping personnel; ability to estimate supply and equipment needs; ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to lift transport supplies and refuse; to wear and work in personal protective equipment.
