Department: Enrollment Outreach & Veteran Services (EMASS)
Introduction: The Department of Enrollment Outreach & Veteran Services is recruiting for Call Center Operators. Interested candidates should have a strong desire in advancing the mission of one of the Nation's largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
Duties: Answers a multiline telephone to provide application, continuing student, and financial aid statuses; inputs and retrieves financial and related data from Banner information systems; provides general and specific information related to the Office of Financial Aid, Records & Registration and Undergraduate Admissions Operations; furnishes detailed information to students regarding university contacts and activities such as telephone numbers, scheduled events, hours of operation, university directions, addresses, academic calendars, openings and closings and the various offices and campus locations and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least one (1) year of experience in the operation of telephone system equipment.
Requirements: General knowledge of telecommunications equipment and service of telephone information call handling procedures; skill in the use of keyboards, basic communications software and in listening techniques for interpreting caller request; ability to speak clearly and effectively, to learn and comprehend information regarding functions of departments; to interact with callers in a pleasant and courteous manner and maintain poise under pressure and the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
