Department:   Office of Human Resources

Introduction: The Office of Human Resources is currently recruiting for an Associate Director. Interested candidates should have a strong desire to support the
mission of one of the Nation's largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Assists the Director of Human Resources in the administration and management of the department, especially relative to policy and procedure development, documentation and implementation functions; performs management and administrative duties in multiple areas of human resources such as: collective bargaining, recruitment, classification, policy and procedures, performance management, training, employee development, benefits management, employer/employee relations and HRIS; complies with government laws and regulations; updates existing human resources policy manuals; manages all activity for the operational areas responsible for the employment and retention of employees in "classified" status and employer/employee relations; supervise activity and related support staff in operations related to non-exempt employees; provides direction and guidance to staff, supervisors and administrators and performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Master's Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five (5) years in progressive Human Resources related experience, to include supervision of staff.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Higher Learning.
