Introduction: The Department of Academic Outreach and Engagement is currently recruiting for an Assistant to the Vice President. Interested candidates should have a strong desire to advance the mission of one of the Nation's largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in Maryland.

Duties: Performing complex administrative and clerical duties for the Vice President, Directors of the Offices of Community Service, Morgan Online and Summer and Winter Sessions; preparing letters, memos, reports, minutes, charts, requisitions, forms and other documents on behalf of several offices; fielding inquiries from community programs regarding programs and services within the division; assisting in the research, collection, and analysis of data and preparation of reports related to Division operations; managing the Division's budget and purchases and requisitions; assisting the Vice President in his role as Chair of the MSCHE Self-Study; serving as Division Liaison for Human Resources and Payroll; providing support when necessary with the preparation of temporary contracts and faculty contracts for Summer and Winter Sessions Programs and Morgan Online Programs; managing the State purchase card for the division and assists in purchasing and procurement including monitoring the Division's Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) goals, processing purchase requisitions (BB4's) and processing Maryland State Expense Accounts and travel requisitions and performing other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, English, Marketing, Communication or a related field from an accredited college or university with at least five (5) years of administrative experience.

Preferred Qualifications: A Master's Degree in Business, Information Systems, English, Marketing, Communication or a related field from an accredited university.

Requirements: ability to work on evenings or weekends as required; demonstrated experience in working with and supporting Senior or Executive level staff.
