Department: Office of Information Technology (OIT)

Introduction: The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is recruiting for an ERP Systems Administrator. Interested candidates should have a strong desire to support the mission of one of the Nation's largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Duties: Providing system management for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, including installing periodic system updates; interfacing with technical Field Service Engineers (FSE) to analyze and resolve problem issues and minor system performance tuning; setting up users, directories, security and group segregation; tuning and optimizing server performance as needed; providing weekly and monthly usage reports as needed; serving as the primary technical liaison for Enterprise Services for ERP concerns and issues; providing after hours, on call technical support coverage for evening and weekend technical issues; updating software as needed (patches and version updates); performing virtual image management using VMware; supporting installing, loading and configuring server connectivity issues; performing server upgrades and migration to new system-level software; performing general server administration task including monitoring and optimizing system performance and reliability; managing enhancements upgrades and providing various levels of support; overseeing storage systems, VMware and Microsoft server environments and performing other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate will have achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited College or University with a minimum of two (2) years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Unix is a plus.

Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written with technical and non-technical staff; strong work ethic; ability to manage a workload that includes short and long-term projects, immediate problem solving and ongoing product maintenance of code and documentation; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; proven ability to work with sensitive and confidential information using procedures required by Federal, State and OIT regulations and policies; ability to produce accurate and reliable work within deadlines.
