Introduction: The Office of Academic Affairs is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant II. Interested candidates should have a strong desire in advancing the mission of one of the Nation's largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Duties: Assisting with the overall operations of the office of Academic Affairs; preparing, revising and proof reading correspondences, charts and reports; receiving and screening telephone calls and visitors; communicating with administrators, staff and the public; maintaining confidential information appropriately; preparing business travel arrangements; entering, updating and retrieving information stored in files and databases; facilitating problem resolution on behalf of the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs; assisting with the preparation and administration of budgets; processing hiring correspondences and Memorandum of Understandings (MOU); assisting with the management and logistics for Academic Affairs meetings and events and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED with three (3) years of secretarial experience.

Requirements: General Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment; skill in preparing reports and operating manual and automated office equipment; ability to perform mathematical computations; performing routine clerical tasks, including filing documents in alphabetical and numerical sequences; ability to plan and perform specialized clerical tasks; ability to understand and interpret departmental policies and procedures; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective work relationships; ability to operate personal computers and assigned word processing and spreadsheet software.
