Department: Public Relations & Communications

Introduction: The Department of Public Relations and Communications is currently recruiting for a Web Content Specialist. Interested candidates should have a strong desire to support the mission of one of the Nation's largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Duties: Creating and maintaining web pages as needed; utilizing the web content management system to ensure that the system is operational and that the website content is current, accurate and convenient to navigate; utilizing best practices in the creation and optimization of web graphic and content; demonstrating the ability to use web-authorizing tools (ex. Adobe CS Suite); providing assistance with user access to web content management system platform; assisting in all call logging and trouble-ticket applications, managing the website support line and in box; preparing training materials and hosting training sessions for CMS content creators; assisting in updating any social media related to the University's marketing and social campaigns; maintaining information contained on websites or data bases linked to sites; monitoring links on the site regularly to ensure that information is current and functional and performing other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Web Design Development, Graphic Design or a design related field from an accredited college or university with at least two (2) years of experience in web development or a related field.

Requirements: Candidate must be current with rapid changing developments regarding internet technologies; the ability to work and communicate well with others is important; must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
