Department: Financial Aid

Introduction: The Department of Financial Aid is currently recruiting for a full-time Employment Coordinator. Interested candidates should have a strong desire to execute the mission of one of the Nation's largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Duties: Developing job placement for Morgan State University Students on and off campus positions; assisting with the determination of student eligibility for federal work study; coordinating materials for student employment contract process; monitoring and processing students bi-weekly time sheets; providing instructions and guidance to students, immediate office staff and other officials deemed necessary in the absence of the department supervisor; screening documents for completeness and accuracy; supervising student workers as assigned; processing student inquiries; advising students of awards, cancellations, etc. based on information from financial aid advisors; receiving, screening, and distributing all in-coming correspondences; providing continuous staff development and performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate would have achieved a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from an accredited university. No previous experience is required.

Requirements: Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment; skill in filing documents according to alphabetic and numeric sequences; ability to independently perform specialized clerical tasks; ability to understand and apply departmental policies and procedures; ability to communicate effectively.
