It was in part the stories
Ashby's father told him about Morgan, about caring staff like Roberts,
that convinced Ashby to attend Morgan. He came to Morgan as a business
major and football player. He soon found himself working in the
school's cafeteria, just as he had in high school.
After Morgan, Ashby
went to culinary school in Philadelphia and studied briefly in France.
His return to work at Morgan follows a career that has taken him
to restaurants, colleges and universities in New Orleans, West Virginia,
Philadelphia, Florida and the Carolinas.
Ashby oversees a staff
of seven at the Roberts Dining Room. The still-new facility is open
for lunch only, but Ashby anticipates that its hours and services
will expand. According to Sharon Williams, quality control manager
in Morgan's Business and Auxiliary Services department, "Staff loves
the new dining room!"
