organ State University is an urban-oriented institution that is committed at the undergraduate level to the liberal arts, sciences, business, architecture, education and engineering. Undergraduates may pursue studies in 39 areas of concentration as well as in pre-professional fields of pharmacy, dentistry, medicine, medical technology and law. At the graduate level, the University offers 21 master's degree programs, including programs in the arts and sciences, business, education, built-environment studies (i.e., architecture, landscape architecture, city and regional planning), engineering and transportation. It also offers doctoral programs in bioenvironmental science, business administration, educational leadership, engineering, English, higher education, history, mathematics education, public health, and science education.

The College of Liberal Arts

The College of Liberal Arts consists of eleven academic departments, offering twelve undergraduate degree programs (Economics, English, Fine Art, History, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Speech Communication, Telecommunications, and Theatre Arts), eight master's degree programs (African/ African-American Studies, Economics, English, History, International Studies, Music, Sociology and Telecommunications), the Ph.D. English and the Ph.D. in History. The College also teaches seven required general education courses to all students at the University and has a number of support programs: Office of Museums, Center for Global Studies and WEAA-FM Radio Station.
