Department: Library
Duties: Serves as an IT Librarian and assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of information technology services initiatives; serves as a technical resource person regarding maximizing the use of electronic technology to deliver services and access information; functions as liaison between the Library and information technology- related entities both internal and external to the University; manages and coordinates the design, construction, and maintenance of the Library's Web pages; provides administrative and technical support for databases accessed via the Web; provides technical expertise and assistance with the Web based resources; facilitates ongoing support of Web based access to electronic information resources; assists in the development and extension of networked information services; plans and establishes goals for information technology resources; explores and evaluates emerging technologies for digital library services; compiles and analyzes data relative to the needs, availability, accessibility, and use of information technology resources for Library clientele; and performs other duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters in Library Sciences; degree from an ALA - accredited program; Five years progressive experience in information technology services Web design; server operating systems, and integrated library systems, experience in an academic setting is preferred.
Requirements: Knowledge of information technology applications and equipment; Knowledge of electronic multimedia references; Ability to manage a library's collection of multimedia resources
