Department: School of Community Health & Policy
Duties: The Fiscal Manager serves as the primary advisor to the Dean and is responsible for facilitating the accomplishment of financial management objectives; maintaining a database of all grants and accounts for the school; preparing monthly budget reports for the Dean; preparing correspondence; preparing staff and faculty contracts; advising Deans, staff, and faculty on university policies and accounting procedures; reviewing budgets with the Dean, Department Chairs, and the Principal Investigators in detail for accuracy and validity; reviewing proposed expenditures; reviewing credit card logs for accuracy; serving as the point person in negotiations and correspondence with the divisional Budget Officer; maintaining filing systems; and performing other duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Accounting or in a related field with a minimum of nine (9) credits in accounting; Five (5) years of progressively responsible financial management experience, preferably with program/project budget management experience in government, academia, or community/public health.
Requirements: Knowledge of basic accounting skills, and computer systems which are commonly used in financial calculation; documented ability to manage a system which includes several funding streams from a variety of sources; ability to translate fiscal information into that which can be universally understood.
