Department: Office of General Counsel
Duties: Serve as receptionist and first point of contact with students and the public; answer telephones; interface with internal and external customers with diplomacy; relay messages, greet, screen and direct calls and visitors; establish and maintain high level of professional customer service at front desk; assemble, compile and edit data and records; prepare worksheets and reports; operate office equipment such as single and multi-line telephones, personal computers, typewriter, facsimile machine and photocopiers; maintain manual and automated record keeping and filing systems; enter and retrieve data; code, sort and file documents and materials; review and verify statistical and other reports for completeness and accuracy of computations; and make photocopies.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Two-year clerical work experience.
Requirements: General knowledge of office practices, procedures, equipment, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Skill in preparing reports, operating manual and automated office equipment, performing mathematical computations; performing clerical tasks; filing documents according to alphabetic and numeric sequences. Ability to plan and independently perform specialized clerical tasks; understand and interpret department policies and procedures; communicate effectively; follow instructions; establish; maintain effective work relationships; operate personal computers.
