Department: Office of the Comptroller
Duties:The Assistant Comptroller serves as a member of the Management Team, under the supervision of the University Comptroller, and is responsible for the University’s financial services and systems, which include: financial reporting; general accounting; payables and disbursements; reconciliations; and year-end financial statements. Other required duties relate to supervision of accounting staff; maintaining security of the ERP and the State’s Financial Management Information System, developing and implementing policing and procedures; assisting in campus-wide training; maintaining the Comptroller’s website; directing, coordinating, and communicating effectively with staff, Information Technology personnel, and other departments; and serving as liaison to the University’s travel agent.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a Bachelors Degree in a related field with a minimum of 30 credits in accounting; Five (5) years of progressively responsible financial management experience, 3 years of which at a managerial level.
Preferred: Financial administration experience obtained at a higher education institution; Banner experience; Experience with Microsoft Office software and relational database systems; Knowledge of Rstars.
