Department: National Transportation Center Duties: The Communications Manager-Editor plays a key role in meeting requirements of the National Transportation Center's (NTC) outreach efforts; is responsible for the preparation of newsletters, annual reports, and other technical publications; performs desktop web publishing; edits technical reports; maintains the NTC website; makes decisions regarding the editing of final research reports, technical writings and newsletters; makes design decisions for the website; prepares corporate style annual reports to meet requirements of the UTC Program; prepares at least two newsletters on NTC activities, annually; edits, publishes and distributes final technical research reports, as required by the UTC program; designs and maintains NTC website and place research project descriptions and final technical reports on the website and on TRB's RiP data base; is responsible for NTC media relations, including occasional press releases, in coordination with other university media relations personnel. Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a Bachelors Degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Two years experience in communications, public relations, writing or editing. Requirements: Knowledge of desktop publishing; ability to use desktop publishing software software; ability to produce newsletters; ability to write annual reports and technical publications; skill in website development.
