Department: Records and Registration
Duties: The position serves as a data control clerk, performing clerical work requiring the application of varied procedures. Processes transcript request forms in a timely manner; Submits list of mail-in transcript requests to the Bursar's Office for clearance; Processes correspondence related to transcript requests; Maintains manual and automated record keeping and filing systems Receives and directs incoming calls and visitors; Responds to general inquires regarding office operations; Processes, assembles, compiles and edits data and a variety of documents requiring knowledge of relevant departmental policies and procedures and interaction with others; Operates office equipment such as single and multi-line telephones, personal computers, typewriters, facsimile machine and photocopiers; Enters and retrieves data; Codes, sorts and files documents and materials; Reviews and verifies statistical and other reports for completeness and accuracy of computations; And assists in coordination of clerical work for the department.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years clerical work experience.
Requirements: General knowledge of office practices, procedures, equipment, of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Skilled in preparing reports; in operating manual and automated office equipment; in performing mathematical computations;, in performing routine clerical tasks; in filing documents according to alphabetic and numeric sequences. Ability to plan and independently perform specialized clerical tasks; to understand and interpret department policies and procedures; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions; to established and maintain effective work relationships; to operate personal computers.
