Department: Student Affairs

Duties: To provide clerical assistance to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs; opens the office at 8:00 a.m.; maintains appointment schedule for the Associate Vice President; records minutes at required meetings; prepares and reconciles the monthly purchasing card logs for the Associate Vice President; prepares various forms and charts; types various correspondence and memos; composes documents using Microsoft Word, Excel and other programs; assists the Judicial Affairs Coordinator; provides guidance and direction to contractual staff and student employees; assists callers and office visitors; performs other duties, as required.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Two years of office experience, which includes the production of documents using automated equipment and software. Demonstrated ability to type 45wpm.

Requirements: Knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment; knowledge of business English, excellent communication and customer service skills; skill in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel; skill in operating manual and automated office equipment; skill in keeping clerical records; ability to work and think clearly under pressure; ability maintain a professional demeanor at all times; ability to understand and follow instructions; ability to interact with the public, employees, and students in a courteous and efficient manner; ability plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
