Department: Division of Institutional Advancement

Duties: To provide administrative and secretarial support to the Vice President, Division of Institutional Advancement (DIA) and the Morgan State University Foundation, Incorporated; maintains DIA budget, procurements, equipment, supply orders and other financial expenditures; signs purchase requests; tracks and processes correspondence; assists in the preparation and management of the annual budget, expense accounts and timekeeping/payroll records; maintains and monitors budget activity for the DIA and its three subdivisions; maintains frequent contacts with internal and external university officials; reads and edits outgoing correspondence for accuracy; exercises independent judgment and initiative; makes all necessary arrangements for travel and independently performs required administrative follow-up and recordkeeping; provides information requiring comprehensive knowledge of DIA polices, procedures, and special departmental issues; anticipates supervisor's course of action; facilitates problem resolution; interprets administrative decisions and policies to other staff and transmits directions and instructions based on authority delegated by the supervisor; and ensures confidentiality appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Three years of office experience, which includes the production of documents using automated equipment and software.

Requirements: Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interface with executives, dignitaries, and professional staff; ability to organize and prioritize according to the complexities of the position; ability to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality in performing duties as deemed necessary; efficient and prompt in expediting and ensuring the completion of multiple tasks.
