Department: Office of Human Resources
Duties: This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources in the administration of the overall day-to-day operations and management of the Department to include policy and procedure development, implementation and administration, updating existing human resources manuals and policies, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and laws pertaining to human resources matters; benchmark competitiveness of salary packages for staff development and retention; experience in classification and compensation determinations; overseeing and making recommendations for adding benefits to the existing benefits package; assisting the Director with collective bargaining, employee relations, performance management, and training and development.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field from an accredited college or university required. Master's Degree in a related field preferred. Five years of professional administrative human resources experience to include the supervision of administrative employees; handling grievances; working knowledge of Federal and State of Maryland Personnel Laws; excellent writing and verbal skills; and ability to utilize various computer word processing and database programs. Familiarity with SCT Banner software preferred.
