Department: School of Community Health and Policy
Duties: To prepare documents and media presentations critical to the School of Community Health and Policy and facilitate the development of partnerships and community linkages within the University, and with key stakeholders addressing public health issues. Research, draft and edit various items of communications in collaboration with the Dean; manage the accreditation review process, including writing/ editing the accreditation self-study; assuring accuracy, appropriateness, and proper editing of all information/ data disseminated to the public from the School ; including the webpage; providing copy-editing and proof reading support to the Dean; assisting the Dean with fundraising activities; serving as liaison to the university program development office; assisting the Dean in strategic planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and procedures; representing the school on advisory
Minimum Qualifications: Masters Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Communications or Education. Three to five years in program management in public health, government, academia, or NGOs, preferably at the community level. Media experience in health promotion and communication. Candidate must provide documented success in fundraising.
Requirements: Ability to read, comprehend, interpret and apply complex orientated laws, regulations, rules, and policies; ability to communicate clearly, effectively and through presentations of concise, but comprehensively written reports: knowledge and understanding of the functions and operations of community organizations; knowledge of use of media promotion and communication; knowledge of the principles of organizational planning, budgeting, staffing and management excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
