Duties: This position serves as part of the Financial Aid Office management team and develops, directs, implements and manages policies and procedures for the Federal Work-Study program. The work involves student placements and coordination with student financial aid services. The employee updates staff on all regulatory and programmatic changes associated with the work-study program and ensures that all aspects of the program are administered properly, e.g., the creation of pamphlets and guidelines, timesheet processing and bi-weekly payroll reconciliations (with the Payroll Office), I-9 documentation for employment eligibility determinations, maintenance of office reports for audit purposes, and dissemination of information to students, administrators, faculty and staff. The position supervises three full time employees; trains staff and student workers, and is assigned a caseload of approximately 200 students.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field. Three years of relevant work experience, preferably in a collegiate environment, performing student related duties, such as, financial aid, student affairs, admissions, or counseling.
Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively; Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to operate a computer; Ability to provide advice and guidance; Skill in coordinating work with other departments of the university; Ability to supervise.;
