FULL-TIME CONTRACTUAL:
CHILD DEVELOPMENT/ HEAD START CLASS ROOM TEACHER

Department: Child Development/ Head Start

Duties: The Classroom Teacher will supervise, evaluate and train Assistant Teachers, volunteers and students; provide the group with a positive routine and with simple rules that are understood and accepted by children and adults. The Classroom Teacher will provide activities and experiences which encourage questioning, probing and problem-solving skills appropriate to developmental level and learning style of the children; help children to acquire and use language as a means of communicating their thoughts, feelings and their creative ability; plan regular parent conferences and make home visits; organize and serve as a primary resources person for the class committee; be responsible for the initial ongoing observation, assessment and recording of each child's behavior; develop written individualized education plans, written weekly lesson plans; serve as a member of CDT; participate in workshops, and seminars and assigned training programs that will facilitate ongoing professional development; and performing other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Teacher VII- Master's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) with twelve weeks supervised field experience and (1) one year ECE classroom experience.

Teacher VI- Bachelor's degree in ECE with twelve weeks supervised field experience.

Teacher V- Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, Social Work, Psychology, or Special Education with CDA.

Teacher IV- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Social Work, Psychology, or Special Education. Must pursue and obtain a CDA, a Bachelor or Master's degree or state certification in ECE with in three months of employment.

Teacher III- Associate of Arts degree (AA) in Early Childhood Education plus thirty college credits with a concentration in ECE.

Teacher II- Associate of Arts degree in early Childhood Education.

Teacher I- Child Development Associate Credential.
Assistant Teacher- 2 years of college experience (preferably in ECE).

All applicants must have a high level of commitment to the education of children and be willing to continue their education & training.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
