Faculty Advisors

New freshmen and transfer students coming in at the freshman and sophomore levels should see Ms. Stepheca Sawyer, Retention Coordinator, for advisement.  Ms. Sawyer is located in the McMechen Building, room 209.  She can be reached on extension 3855.

Sophomores should also see Ms. Sawyer in room 209 for advisement.

Juniors and Seniors should seek advisement from departmental advisors.  Juniors and seniors are assigned to departmental faculty advisors based on last name as indicated in the schedule below. 

Transfer students coming in at the junior or senior level should see the Chairperson for advisement.

Seniors expecting to graduate the following May or December will receive a Student Status Summary during the summer preceding graduation.  These students should review the Student Status Summary  with the Chairperson before the last semester to make sure they sign up for all classes required for graduation.  If you do not receive the Student Status Summary in the mail you may pick one up from the department during the fall semester.

Any  student not able to see the assigned advisor for any reason may see any other faculty member in that major.  Such students may also choose to see the Chairperson for advisement.
