To Add Printer with LPR PORT on Win2K Professional

Step1

Click Start->Settings->Control Panel

Step2

Double Click on Add/Remove Programs

Step3

Click on Add/Remove Windows Components

Step 4

Check Mark on Other Network Files and Printer Services and click on Details

Step 5 Check Mark on Print Services for Unix.

Step 6

Click Next

Step 7 Start Settings->Printers

Step 8 Click on Add Printer

Step 9 click Next

Step 10 click on Local Printer and click NEXT

Step 11 Create a NEW port type LPR PORT

Step 12 add printer DNS name (see example on step 13)

Step 13 add name of the printer server (exe: lexmark301-cgwn.morgan.edu) click on OK

Step 12 Select the Manunfactures

Step 12 Keep existing driver if need it.

Step 13 Do not share this printer

Step 14 Click on NO

Step 12 Verify the new installed printer on Printer folder and print a test page.
